Youth Work

Our Youth Work Team works hard to strengthen the local community by involving young people and their families in a range of programmes and activities.

Our team has a wide skills base and experience of working with young people and community involvement

Working each week from Monday – Friday, we have a timetable of programmes and events ranging from our daily Homework Clubs to our popular Sports Clubs.

The Youth Work Team runs a daily Homework Club, accommodating the primary school children from 4th Class and upwards at our Aungier Street facility. Our staff team are on hand to provide support to the young people, assisting and encouraging the young people with their homework from 2.30pm-4pm each weekday afternoon.

To join the YMCA Homework Club, please call 01-4782607 and ask for the Youth Work Team who will be happy to assist you.

The Aungier Street & Sports Team bring programmes to primary and secondary school aged young people from Monday to Friday. These clubs include cooking, football, swimming, creative digital media clubs along with drop-ins, teen gym and some specalised programmes focusing on development.

One example of a developmental programme is Real Life Tours, which is a programme which aims to allow the participants to explore in a real life way the risk which is involved in drug use and the way in which drug use can add to and complicate existing life difficulties, such as poverty, homelessness, ill health, poor education attainment, family and relationship problems.

Our Swimming Club is generously supported by The Rotary Club of Dublin, who take a keen interest in the health and wellbeing of the young people we work with.

We have so much fun!

The YMCA is amazing for me. The Youth Club is a place where I feel safe, where I keep learning while I have fun and where I met some new friends!
To join our Youth Work clubs please call us on 01 478 2607 and ask for Jen or Mago.
